The following obituary for Ron Burton appeared in a newspaper in the Los Angeles area on April 5, 1986:

Oxnard, California--Ronald V. Burton, 40, a native of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, died March 30 after an extended illness. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on April 17, 1945, he was a 1964 graduate of East Longmeadow High School. He had been a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Springfield. He had belonged to Trinity Toastmasters Club and the Masonic Temple in Springfield. He served in a construction battalion with the Navy during the Viet Nam War and was a Navy recruiter for five years in Ventura County. He attended Ventura College. He was a public relations officer for the Ventura County Corvette Club. He is survived by his widow, Linda (Symington) Burton of Oxnard; his parents, Vernon and Gertrude Burton of Holiday, Fla.; and two brothers, Jeffrey of East Longmeadow and Mark of Holiday, Fla. A graveside service was held April 4 in Los Angeles National Cemetery.
