Kenneth Petitto

Kenneth Petitto

Ken Petitto passed away near Los Angeles sometime in late August, at a date and under circumstances that are largely unknown.  He leaves no family, as his wife and daughter predeceased him and he had no siblings. We know that he suffered from a severe diabetic condition that had necessitated kidney dialysis, in a futile hope to obtain a transplant, and eventually amputation of parts of both his legs. He was a musician, and shortly before his death was hoping to record some of his music for commercial sale.

A search continues for more information about Ken's life and death, and this obit will be updated if something new turns up.

I was sorry to hear of Ken's passing. He was sorta goofy as a kid, like the rest of us trying to find ourselves, but a good kid none the less. See you on the other side Ken.

I always liked Kenny. He certainly was true and honest and never had a secret agenda. What you saw with him, was what you got. In football, he palyed his ass off trying to protect the backfield. I hope God didn't retire Ken's drum with his passing, and that his odd beat goes on !!!   Brian Johnson

What I remember most about Kenny was his "goofy" smile, and the way he loped (as opposed to walked) down the halls, always seemingly on his toes, bouncing along. He was a gentle soul, and one whom we probably did not appreciate enough. RIP Kenny. Does anyone know what happened?

In answer to Phil's question about how Kenny died;  he had been in poor health for many years.  He, among other things had kidney failure.  He was on dialysis a long time and was on the list for a kidney transplant.  Last year due to his poor circulation; one leg then the other were amputated.  Ken still kept his spirits up, playing his guitar and sharing his music.  Just before he died he posted on Facebook a kind of goodbye to all.  I think he probably realized that he had no more options and decided to stop all treatment and allow his body to pass on.  Knowing Kenny I doubt he would have taken any other road.  He fought long and hard in this life to stay alive and be productive.  Definitely RIP Ken
