Our classmate Bill Accorsi passed away March 16, 2011. This obituary for Bill appeared in the Springfield Republican on March 17:

William F. Accorsi 1946 - 2011 SPRINGFIELD - William F. Accorsi, 64, of Springfield died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, a son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Wisniowski) Accorsi and was a resident of Springfield, and former resident of East Longmeadow. He is the retired owner of the former City Beef of Hartford, CT, and in his retirement years he was a courier for Hampden County Physicians. William was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam era. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and member of the Board of Directors of Pine Grove Golf Course, Spofford, NH. He will be cherished by all who knew and loved him including his wife of 40 years Suzanne (Rollins) Accorsi, 2 sons, Carlo Accorsi and his wife Bridget of Keene, NH and John Accorsi of Southwick, a sister, Carolyn McKelvie of East Longmeadow, a brother John Accorsi of Somers, CT, 2 grandchildren, Ava and Sofia and several nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by his brother Robert Accorsi. Visiting hours for William are Friday, March 18, 2011 from 4-7PM at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Rd, Springfield, MA. The funeral is Saturday, March 19, 2011 from Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home at 8:30AM followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10Am at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St, Springfield concluding with Rites of Committal with Military Honors at Springfield Cemetery, 171 Maple St, Springfield. It's a sad day to think of one of our classmates passing. I liked Billy and remember that he played a good third base for the ELHS baseball team. See you on the other side.
